High Peak Credit Union Study Group.
The group which was established by High Peak Community Housing and others to
look in to ways of establishing a credit union covering the High Peak.
The meeting was quite useful with those in attendance flagging up a number
of ways that the idea can be moved forward along with how it could fit into
a variety of other strategies that are been worked on including a
forthcoming financial inclusion strategy that the county council and other
partners are working on.
Whilst still at early days the way forward looks encouraging, and whilst
like all things it may take some time to do, there appears to be a
willingness from a variety of groups to work on making the idea of a credit
union for the High Peak a reality.
