Birthday mumbling’s

Today, I reach the age of 29, which whilst not particularly old, does leave with me some slight concern as I run out of the 20’s, and head towards the 30’s.

As I note above that although 29 is not particularly old, one note of concerns is that, for some of the meeting I attend, even now (in some cases) after many years of attendance, I am on the whole still the youngest person in the room.

This is a picture I am sure will be reflected again, when the next national survey of councillor’s is done, where I am sure there will again be a increase in the average age of councillor’s.

Now whilst to quote (or possible misquote) the Boomtown Rat’s, “that time is but the constant with which you measure your age”, it would still be nice to see more younger people involved, like our own Councillor Ellie Wilcox who was elected at 24.

However although that would be nice, in essence as per the quote, age is not necessarily the only factor and the more people that want to get involved in their local communities the better.
