Don’t believe all you read !

Although I have not yet seen it myself, in this week’s Glossop Chronicle, there is apparently an article advising that the two proposed housing schemes for Gamesley are due to be built.

However this is not the case and to date no decision on the schemes has been taken, and things remain as they were at the time of the public meeting at the end of March.

Although I cannot confirm this until I see the article, I believe the contents of the article will have come from a report, which went before the social inclusion select committee, which met last night.

The report was advising the committee of the council’s success in bidding for funding for a number of schemes, including the bids to the housing corporation for the two proposed schemes on Gamesley and a number of other ones across the High Peak.

However unfortunately due to the paper not been in attendance at the meeting, they appear to have missed the detail that the schemes at current are only proposals, and that no decisions were made last night, and that there is still some way to go before the schemes, reach the next stage in the decision making process, let along even start with the planning process if the decision is made to go ahead.
