Saturday and the end of the week, saw some bad luck on the local football front, with both Gamesley’s, first team and the reserve team getting beat in their respective cup matches. The first team by Club AZ, and the reserves by Glossop North End.
Wednesday was a change from the usual, with attendance at meeting organized by the Hope Valley and High Peak Transport Partnership, around the theme of “Friends of Station Group’s”. The meeting included presentations from ACORP (association of community rail partnerships), Northern Rail, and representatives of the Friends of Hanforth Station and Altringham Interchange.
An interesting meeting which as well as setting the national scene around the issue of ‘friends of’ groups, also included progress on some local ‘friends of’ that are in the process of being set up including one in Glossop.
Tuesday afternoon included a half-day off work to attend the latest meeting of the Gamesley Neighborhood Police Team. The meeting, which sees representatives of various voluntary groups and agency’s working on Gamesley is held to discuss with the Police issue’s around what’s currently happening on the estate, that the police in partnership with the other ‘agencies’ have an impact on.
Tuesday’s meeting also included for the first time, the first two neighborhood watch co-ordinators from the Winster Mews and Hurdlow area’s of the estate. The meeting considered amongst other things updates on the lend a cam scheme, anti social behavior orders and contracts, neighborhood watch and the theft of the CCTV camera from the Community Center.
Tuesday evening saw a meeting of the Corporate Select Committee, with various items on discussion mainly around the budget and capital program.
Monday saw a meeting of the Jericho Project’s Management Committee, mainly looking at ongoing issues around the future of the Jericho Café Project, and to some extent looking at the future of the Jericho Project itself.
Some progress has been made since the last meeting, but there was still a certain amount of wait and see whilst decisions are made elsewhere.
