This evening sees a meeting of the North Tenant Action Zone, starting at 7.00pm in Bredbury Community House in Glossop.
No specific issues on the agenda but the meeting will follow again follow the new format started off at the last meeting with surgeries session with representative from the various staff teams within HPCH following by the usual meeting.

Tenants’ Panel
Last Tuesday night saw a meeting of the North Tenants Panel.
The first item of business was electing a new chair following the retirement of Margaret Nield due to ill health, a vote of thanks for her work during her time as chair was given. After a short issue from a former member of the panel, Fiona Harrison from Whitfield was elected.
Amongst the business of the meeting was a presentation from the Carelink service, followed up by a report from the Capital Program section.
The meeting then considered two bids to the panel’s budget one from the Glossopdale Young Women’s Group toward childcare support for their meetings which was approved, followed by one from the GRA for support for a community bonfire on Gamesley which was also approved.
High Peak Community Housing will be organising a number of roadshow over the next few months in place of their tenants information conference which took place last year, the first of these will be on Thursday 25th October from 2pm until 7pm at Bredbury House.

Tenants Panel
Tuesday evening (31sty July) will see a meeting of the North Area Tenants Panel, meeting at Bredbury House in Glossop.
The meeting will cover most of the usual topics, and is open to all High Peak Community Housing Tenants, so if you're interested in what High Peak Community Housing is up to, why not come along and have your say at 7.00pm on Tuesday evening.

Tenants Panel
Last Tuesday saw a meeting of the Glossopdale Tenants Panel, the usual chair was unable to attend (hope you feeling better soon Margaret), so as vice chair I took the chair for the evening.
Most of the usual items on discussion with an exception been an item on plans been put together to get an all weather pitch / facility on Whitfield.
Details were also advised on the replacement for the annual tenant’s conference which this year will be replaced by 5 more local events, including one in Gamesley, and Glossop as an effort to try to get more people involved.
Details as well were announced about the forthcoming Chapel Lane Park Fun Day which will be taking place on Saturday 16th June.
A good attendance again from across Glossopdale, but unfortunately this time no else from Gamesley.

North Area Tenants Panel
Next Tuesday will see a meeting of the North Area Tenants Panel take place at Bredbury House in Glossop.
The meeting will discuss a wide range of issues to do with High Peak Community Housing, and gives ‘Council tenants’ a good opportunity to have a say on forthcoming plans etc.
As always with this meeting it would be nice (as per the last meeting) to see a few more Gamesley residents there, so if you can spare a few hours next Tuesday evening from 7.00pm please come along and have your say.

Tenants Panel
Last Tuesday (23rd) saw a meeting the North Area Tenants Panel. A bit thin on the ground for this meeting, with several people missing due to illness or other meetings. Nothing much to report in terms of any new capital schemes or projects, but a detailed report on the troubles caused by the recent bad weather, with around 150 calls for roof or similar repairs, around 40 of which were on Gamesley.
As part of the report on repairs a discussion took place around whether tennents should be charged for certain types of ‘repairs related’ call outs. Ie when the call has caused by tenant ‘error’ such as no money in the gas meter, or when urgent repairs are arranged and the tenant then goes out, meaning the repair cannot take place. Whilst the general feeling of the meeting from the other residents was to be in favour of this, I have some concerns over this approach and would be interested in hearing what anyone thinks of the idea.
There was then some talk around the work going on to establish ‘neighbourhood action groups’ with the Glossop Central one having meet already, the Hadfield one due to meet at the end of Feb, and the Gamesley one due to meet on Friday, when more details will be available.
Finally the panel budget was again able to support a number of initiatives across the area, with £520 going to a Safer Homes Programme, £1000 to the Simmondley Youth Action Group, £1500 for improvements to Drovers Walk / Quarry Close area, and £600 to establish a young men’s group on Gamesley.
