Monday saw a meeting at the council offices in Chinley to consider, changes to the current committee structure that may be needed in light of the local government white paper that was published recently.
The main change likely at current is the creation of ‘area boards’ for each area to enable more local decision-making and scrutiny.
Tuesday saw a meeting of the North Area Tenants Panel, nothing much new to report aside from the welcome attendance of a few new people including one from Gamesley.
Wednesday afternoon saw this month's walkabout, which covered the area between the shops and Hollins Lane. This month as well as the usual regulars we were also joined by 2 members of Gamesley's beat team PC Matt Long and PCSO Anne Morris.
A wide range of issue was raised during the walkabout from untidy gardens to anti social behaviour including a good chat with one local resident who had a number of important concerns and issue's about the patch.
Next month's walkabout will take place on Wednesday 25th April and will be back to cover the 'gas side' of the estate, which was last covered in January.
Wednesday evening, saw a trip to the fairly new Agricultural Centre in Bakewell for a presentation on the joint housing needs survey which has been completed by High Peak Borough Council, in partnership with Derbyshire Dales District Council.
The survey highlighted as expected that there is a need for new housing with the area, with there currently been a backlog of over 2000 household's currently classed as in need of new or different housing, with many of those requiring any new housing to be affordable housing.
Thursday evening saw a group meeting at Chinley, with Friday evening been this months constituency Labour Party meeting which this month was meeting in Whaley Bridge.
