Earlier this month I attended the HPCH Staff Oscar’s ceremony, an event aimed at the company been able to show how much it’s staff are valued by a series of awards made to staff following nominations from within the staff.
The awards covers such area as apprentice of the year, team of the year, most inspirational manger and a number of other areas, and it was good to see that the ‘team of the year’ award went to the group of staff that has worked on the recent express yourself tour that took place over the summer.
Whilst in a sense the awards are a bit inward looking with the nominations etc coming from within the staff it seems a useful scheme to help encourage staff to think of new ideas and strive to go above and beyond the expected level to improve the service that is offered.
