Charlesworth Safer Neighbourhood Team, which covered the usual range of
updates and reports around community safety along with the more bizarre with
news from some of the Charlesworth residents in attendance reporting on a
local councillor contact the police over them using grit !
The meeting also covered issues around the project pooch book copies of
which should have been received (or will be very shortly) by all homes in
the Gamesley area. The booklet which covers a range of area around dog care
will also be available online shortly and along with officers from the beat
team and HPCH we will be putting together a form so dog related concerns can
be reported anonymously.
The meeting also had the possible more concerning update around the Police
team for Gamesley and Charlesworth changing with PC Matt Long moving to the
Glossop Team and been replaced by PCSO Jordan Kelly
Consideration was also give to an operation that the police will be running
around preventing burglaries which will be running on parts of the estate
in the near future, this will consist of amongst other things home security
checks and the funding for the checks comes following a report identifying
both Gamesley and Fairfield as potential burglary hotspots.
Finally as part of the updates the importance of reporting any issues was
stressed as without accurate information as to what the problems are the
police can't tackle them, along with praise for the ringmaster system which
had alerted a number of the neighbourhood watch co-ordinators to particular
problems such as bogus callers.
