Gaza Public Meeting / Forthcoming events

Last Thursday evening saw a trip to the Labour Club in Glossop to attend a
public meeting over the current situation in Gaza and to look at what local
people may be willing to do over the issue.

Around 15 or so people attended and were addressed by Nahella Ashraf the
chair of the Greater Manchester stop the war coalition, who covered a wide
range of issues around the situation along with brining those in attendance
up to date with activities taking place in Manchester such as nightly vigil'
s / demonstrations outside the BBC on Oxford Road and last Sunday's (18th
January) demonstration at Albert Square.

In terms of local activities, the candlelit vigil's that have taken place
the last two Friday's will continue with the next one been on Friday 23rd
January from 5.30pm until 6.00pm at Glossop's Norfolk Square, along with a
showing of the film Iron Wall on the 7th February and a benefit concert in
aid of Medical Aid to Palestinians - more details on those when available.
