Labour Party Conference

This years Labour Party Conference is taking place in Manchester, from last Saturday (20th September) until Wednesday (24th September) as with previous events as well as the main conference sessions there are a number of fringe events taking place during the week.

The fringe events are an opportunity for delegates to hear from minister and other experts on various issues of policy and so far I have attended events (further details to come) considering topics on Palestine, energy, the future of Manchester, delivering affordable housing, blogging, you tube, safety in betting shops, balancing our democracy and the American elections.

This year the delegate from the High Peak is former Whitfield Councillor Ellie Wilcox, who as well as appearing in the daily Conference News Paper, spoke during the main conference session on the Sunday morning.
