European Parliament's - Is more than one a waste of money ?

Local Euro MP Glenis Willmott has joined with some of her colleagues and
others in critisizing the monthly move of the European Parliament between
Brussels and Strasbourg.

The move which involves the 784 MEP's and 4000 staff cost's £160 million a
year plus the cost of maintaining the Strasbourg Parliament Building which
is unused for 317 days a year.

The reason the issue is been flagged up again now is following the roof
collapsing at the Strasbourg site during August.

Interestingly the summit that set up and agreed this costly practise was
hosted and approved by former conservative premier John Major in Edinburgh
in 1992.
