Things to be aware of …

A possible new feature for the blog is detailing some of the various awareness events that take place, this week for example sees the following awareness events take place :

Composting Awareness Week


From Sunday 4th May until Saturday 10th May WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) and The Composting Association have organised Compost Awareness Week a series of events taking place across the county to highlight and encourage more members of the public to use compost.

Sun Awareness Week

Yesterday (5th May) saw the start of Sun Awareness Week, a week of events organised by the British Association of Dermatologists to promote a sun safety message. The week of events also coincides with Euromelanoma Day - a Europe-wide day of action on skin cancer prevention. It’s alright to be bright day


Finally, Friday (9th May) sees ‘ it’s alright to be bright day’ which is a series of events organised by the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) to highlight awareness amongst children that it is ALRIGHT to be bright and that every child has a gift or talent they can celebrate whether in an academic subject or an area such as football, singing or cross country.
