Wednesday (7th May) sees a meeting of the Gamesley Local Action Group which is a group led by High Peak Community Housing of local residents, the council and the various agencies working on the estate which aims to look at what work is been done to improve the estate and what needs to be done next.
Issues up for discussion on Wednesday include guest speakers in the form of the Council’s enforcement office and dog warden, along with discussions on a ‘good neighbour agreement’ something which HPCH has put together to combat anti social behaviour and encourage locals to work together to tackle problems in the spirit of community cohesion.
The following Tuesday (13th May) see a meeting of the full council along with the annual meeting of the council in which Jean Wharmby’s term of office as Mayor will come to an end and if things remain as expected Buxton Councillor Robin Baldry take over.
Over items up for discussion include final approval for the asset management plan, pay and workforce development strategy, street trading consents and councillor development along with reports on saved policies for the local plan, the annual report for the select committees and a notice of motion with regards to the concerns still not resolved from the role of the mayor in chairing the last council meeting.
