Glossopdale Area Forum - future planning needs

Last Thursday evening saw a meeting of the Glossopdale Area Forum take place at the Glossop site of the Glossopdale Community College.

The theme for the evening was around the Shaping the future of the High Peak Consultation that is currently going on.

The Shaping the future consultation is basically looking at the plans and policies for land use and future building within the High Peak from when the current local plan runs out in the next few years until 2026.

The theme was introduced by Adrian Fisher who is head of planning, which covered the current situation and along with Hilary Senior from planning the themes within the consultation document such as housing, transport, employment and so on, and how you could have your input to the process.

The meeting then broke up for those attending to see an exhibition of a number of display boards covering the themes within the document, and a chance to add there comments via post it notes on the issues considered.

The meeting also considered updates on the previous meeting from Dia Larner along with a general question and answer session covering issues including Cottage Lane, the Housing Moratorium, Conservation areas, banning HGV’s from the Snake Pass, train fares, self build and the need for 6 school crossing patrols within the Glossopdale area.
