Ali Nuumbembe

From details on the Glossop.com website, it's time to say a fond farewell to
Glossopdale's 'adopted' Namibian boxer Ali Nuumbembe, who after 6 years in
Glossop is returning home to resume his career as a captain in the Namibian
Defence Force.

The popular local hero who recently lost the Commonwealth Welterweight Belt
has been a good source of inspiration to locals with his dedicated attitude
to the sport along with his strong support for a whole range of local
group's and charity events during his time in Glossop.

A farewell drink is been held in the Howard Arms on High Street East in
Glossop at 7.30pm on Friday 18th January.

Don't forget that if you have in interest in boxing the Gamesley boxing club
runs every Tuesday and Thursday including women only sessions, contact Lisa
at the community centre for more details on 01457 869038
