As mentioned last week as part of the proposals for possible futures uses for Glossop Town Hall there will be an open day to get people’s views about the current proposals for this historic building.
The event is been run by the High Peak CVS (Community and Voluntary Support) and Glossop Volunteer Centre who are working in partnership with the council to hopefully improve the use of this important building.
The partnership has a vision of the Town Hall been rejuvenated into a flexible performance, exhibition and meeting space, with provision to support local voluntary organisations which will help put life back into the town.
The event runs on Saturday 3rd November from 10.00am to 2.00pm, and as well as collecting your views on the future uses for the building it also gives you an opportunity to have a look round.
Kevin Skingsley who is chief executive of High Peak CVS one of the partners in the project, says: "We are hoping that members of local voluntary groups, creative businesses and local residents will drop into the town hall for a cuppa and a chat anytime between 10.00am and 2.00pm.
We want to find out whether local people share our vision and identify the groups, businesses and people who will want to use a rejuvenated community building.
Your views will help us in applying for £1 million from the Lottery to regenerate this community asset and help us shape how we can breathe new life into this old building."
For anyone unable to attend the open day, there are also plans for an online consultation for the proposals - details on this as soon as they are available.
