Safer Neighbourhood Team

Wednesday afternoon saw the most recent meeting of the Gamesley and Charlesworth Safer Neighbourhood Team, a well attended meeting with many of the local residents who are neighbourhood watch co-ordinators in attendance.

A wide range of issues discussed including details about the lend a cams now having a sound recording capability, which should hopefully improve there use for dealing with anti social behaviour issues.

Concerns were raised with regards to St Margaret's school following a recent vandalism attack on the school since the start of the holidays, with a request been made for the Governors at the school to look at ways of better securing the school such as improving the fence around it.

Continuing problems about getting the CCTV on Winster Mews improved due to problems with the security cages for the cameras, which had meant the repairs work has still not been finished.

Further concerns were raised concerning problems near the Centurion Pub with residents living near the park across from the pub, advising of continued problems with noise and anti social behaviour. The Police will now most likely be trying one of the lend a cams to assist in gathering evidence to tackle the problems in this area.

The next meeting will now be in November.
