Book Pushers - a scheme where teenage readers promote books and libraries - is one of five projects in line for a 'Love Libraries Award', run by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council.
The scheme works by getting teenagers trained by library staff to spread their love of reading among other young people and the young people involved have given presentations in schools, libraries and even at national conferences.
The young people have also helped to influence the selection of books available in Derbyshire libraries and produced creative displays to promote their work.
The award aims to celebrate the work that libraries do with young people and has attracted a total of 48 nominations from across England. The prize if Derbyshire get the most votes and win is a trophy and £2000 prize money to improve services for young people.
Local's can register their vote by visiting the county council's website www.derbyshire.gov.uk/libraries where you will find more information and details of how to vote.
Voting forms will also be available in all Derbyshire County Council libraries.
The vote begins today (Monday 13 August) and closes on Friday 14 September. The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony in London on Wednesday 3 October.
