Last Wednesday saw a meeting of the Audit and Regulatory Committee, which as I’ve previously commented might not sound like something exciting, but it dose have an important job to do.
The meeting considered reports on the draft statement of accounts, the audit and inspection plan from the Audit Commission, along with a number of reports on internal controls and the work of the internal audit service.
All reports that mainly look at internal issues with in the council which will come across to some as been fairly technical and bureaucratic, but all intended to make sure that the council is doing what it should and hopefully meeting the needs of local residents.
