Good news .... Bad news

Although Monday, involved a day off work, it started quite well with interviews at the HQ of the Tameside and Glossop PCT in Denton for the practice that will take over the running of the dental service from the clinic.

One of the candidate's had put together a good submission prior to the interviews, performed well at the interview and pending any 'contractual' problems will be able to provide a good / improved 'dental service' for the estate.

Pending any of the problems mentioned above, the new / improved service will commence from January. Until then, if you require dental treatment and do not have access to your own dentist, you should contact the 'In hours access service' on 07813 290 327 and they will work to get you allocated a slot with a local dentist.

The bad news followed with the development control meeting later that Monday, which considered the planning application for the Hurdlow scheme.

Despite a silent protest during the pre meeting site visit and speech's against the proposal from local resident Janet Mills and myself, and rejection of the application been moved by the other Cllr Mckeown (Bob), the committee voted 5 votes to 4 in favor of the proposal.

We were however supported by all the Glossopdale members of the committee with Cllr's Joyce Brocklehurst and Jean Warmby joining with Cllr Bob Mckeown and Buxton's Ann Mone in voting against the proposal.

The next step now, is for people to sign the petition if they have not already done so, and if they can also make an objection to the executive. The current details for making an objection to the executive are available by clicking here, these will be reviewed once the final report to the executive is available at the weekend.
