Friends of Glossop Station

Received on the email this morning :

“HELP – WE NEED SOMEBODY

not just anybody – but you - to help with GET/FoGS Activities for August

Every Wednesday and Sunday morning from 10 a.m. to 12 noon we are preparing and painting the railings which border the railway station along Howard Street
.
Please come suitably prepared in old clothes, rubber gloves and goggles if you have them. Goggles and rubber gloves will be provided but we may not have enough.

If you have step ladders, planks of wood etc which will assist in reaching high up, please bring them or ring Jean on 899298 if you can offer them to anyone working there.

We need to paint the railings to pay for Community Rail Day as it is a condition of the grant.

If people become a little tired of the painting then the garden will always need a water as it will also need some litter picking and some weeding.

The planter is full of mould which could be scraped off and fresh compost applied.

The station concourse also needs a mop.

PLEASE COME WHEN YOU CAN”

If you can spare any time at all, I’m sure any help would be appreciated.
