Last week – a brief review

Only one meeting this week, aside from a councillor’s surgery on the Saturday, which was a governors meeting at St Margaret’s Primary School.

The main business of the meeting was to approve the school’s budget for the forthcoming year.

Due to falling numbers and the like, the budget will again be quite tight. This means that it can be quite difficult to ensure, that the extra staffing and resources that are needed are retained and enhanced, one to watch for the future.

Although not all of the news at the meeting was good, there was some good news from the meeting, in that the Headteacher at St Margaret’s will be working with the Headteacher at Gamesley School, to jointly market, the two local schools, and hopefully encourage more people to use either one of the two schools rather than going elsewhere to either Dinting or Charlesworth.
