NaBloPoMo
For November, I will once again be trying to complete NaBloPoMo which is an initative aimed at encouraging bloggers to post every day for a month.
Whilst this first post is a bit light over the next few days and weeks there will be a range of posts covering things such as older people's housing to recycling and possibly various things in between.

Now It's 6 and welcome
Completely forgotten from last month, was the sixth birthday of the blog which was first started in 2005.
Whilst not all the topics covered may be interesting, I do hope that readers of the blog will find the contents useful and if you have suggestion for topics or issues that should be covered please let me know.
Completely unrelated, (but somehow connected in a way) this week has seen the launch of the Cllr Caitlin Bisknell's leaders blog on the borough council website. You can read it by going to : http://www.highpeak.gov.uk/council/leadersblog/

Small bit of a face lift
Both the blog (www.blog.anthonymckeown.info) and my website (www.anthonymckeown.info) have received a little bit of a facelift to hopefully tidy things up and make them look a little bit better.
However a slight side effect of this, is that for the next few days at least (possible longer if things are busy) a number of the 'older' bits of the website are temporarily unavailable whilst they get changed over to the new layout - apologies in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.

Blog birthday / A brief reminder / Advertiser / New look
Although missed from earlier this month, July sees the passing of the 4th Anniversary of the start of the blog, and as previously noted whilst not all the topics covered may be the liveliest of issues, I do hope you feed to blog interesting and I hope it gives an over view of some of the issues that local councillor’s work through.

As noted previously the rest of my website is currently undergoing an update to hopefully improve both the content and the look, and as part of that the blog has undergone a revamp, I hope you like the new look, but again would welcome any comments or suggestions if you think anything is missing.
Lastly on the advertiser, several people have been in touch asking when the blog will be returning to pages of the Glossop Advertiser, on this I don’t know the answer to the question at the moment, but I hope it’s something that can be sorted out soon.

Happy Birthday to this blog ! / Musical interlude
Yesterday saw the second anniversary of this blog, which was first started in 2005, and whilst not all the topics covered may be interesting, I do hope that readers of the blog find the contents useful.
Whilst I don’t usually attend that many concerts or gigs, this week will see me attending two, with Tori Amos playing at the Apollo on Thursday and Genesis playing at the Manchester Theatre of Dreams (Old Trafford) on Saturday, reviews on both to follow.

New Look to the blog
There is a slight new look to the blog page, to bring into use some of the features on the new version of blogger, the main one (of interest / use at least) is the labels function which means you will be easily able to find posts on similar issue's / subjects.
