Monday evening saw a meeting of the audit and resources sub-committee of High Peak Community Housing. In a way it serves a similar role to the audit and regulatory committee of the council in that it works to ensure that company is meeting all its legal obligations etc, and last nights meeting saw us consider reports on internal audit, risk management, approval of the annual accounts along with several regular financial matters for review.
Unlike with the council that essentially has no choice over its auditors with us having to use the national audit office, HPCH uses to separate audit firms one to do internal audit, the other to do external audit.
