Councillor Twitter

Flagged up in last Saturday's edition of the Local Government Association's
Magazine that goes to all local councillor was news about a new website that
has been set up to list local councillor's that are currently twitter's
(which may be an unfortunate name for the service)

Twitter, if you have not come across it, is one of the many social
networking type sites, with a slight difference in that it only wants you to
answer one question - what are you doing now ? and give you just 140
characters to answer that in, and has been growing in fame recently with
some well known users such as Steven Fry, Jonathon Ross etc.

Locally within the High Peak, according to the Cllr Tweep's website
(www.cllrtweeps.com) there are currently 3 local councillors's that you
could follow who are myself (www.twitter.com/anthonymckeown), Cllr Jean
Wharmby (www.twiter.com/cllr_jean) who covers the Dinting Ward, and Cllr
Mark Gadd (www.twitter.com/MarkGadd) who covers the New Mills East Ward.
