Awards Ceremony

Last Friday evening (5th December) saw an awards ceremony with a difference.

The event which was organised by the adult education department aims to
highlight the achievements of locals studying various qualifications which
range from childcare to building skills, along with a number of awards to
local volunteers from nominations by some of the various bodies that work on
the estate.

Local MP Tom Levitt was in attendance at the event along, with minister for
the East Midlands Phil Hope, both of whom presented a number of awards to
locals including volunteers who are currently helping the rainbow, beavers
and cubs.

Many thanks to the organisers who with the way the event was organised not
only celebrated the achievements of locals who had studied for various
qualifications, but helped celebrate the work of the whole community.
