Last Tuesday saw a visit from Secretary of State for Work and Pensions and nearby Hyde and Stalybridge MP James Purnell.
The visit which was to look at a DCC Adult Education Course on Construction Skills, had followed on from visits to a Pension display at Buxton Museum and a talk with staff at the Glossop Job Centre.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to attend due to work commitments however the other Cllr Mckeown along with Cllr Jacqui Wilkinson, and County Councillor Dave Wilcox did.
I understand that it was planned to discuss the current rent service review but due to civil service restrictions it wasn’t possible to hold a formal meeting over the issue.
