Football News

Last Wednesday (20th August) saw Gamesley draw 1 all against Woodley FC.

Saturday saw a six goal spectacular with Gamesley beating Barnton 5 - 1 at
home.

The game which was evenly tied at half time could in my view have had an
even higher score line but for some problems in Gamesley putting the ball
away when it counts along with some bizarre decisions from one of the
linesmen officiating on the game.

This coming week sees the first team at home on Wednesday to local rivals
Stalybridge Celtic Reserves (kick off 6.30pm) and home again on Saturday
(30th August) to Greenalls Padgate St Oswalds (kick off 3.00pm)

The reserves have yet to start off their league campaign with last week's
opening tie away to Denton Town Reserves being postponed. This week, again
on Thursday (28th August) should see the reserves kicking off to an away tie
against Poynton Reserves, followed on Saturday (30th August) with an away
tie against Greenalls Padgate ST O Reserves.
