Stephen Gillham

Sad news reported on the website of the Brighton Argus, with the news that Stephen Gillham former headteacher of Gamesley School has passed away at the age of 47 from kidney failure after a long battle with a viral brain infection.

Mr Gillham who was a popular headteacher of the school until he left in 2004, shepherded the school from special measurers and upon leaving the school went on to train for the for the priesthood at the College of the Resurrection in Mirfield, West Yorkshire, but ill-health prevented him being ordained beyond the order of deacon.

There is an option to leave tributes on the Argus website, and I understand that a collection is been arranged by Gamesley School (telephone 01457 853721).
