GC Meeting

Friday evening saw a trip to Whaley Bridge for the March constituency meeting of the High Peak Labour Party, which this month was also the AGM (annual general meeting).

Some slight changes to executive officers, along with an interesting discussion on getting the various bits of the constituency working better together.

Local members including Glossopdale Branch Chair Gwyneth Francis raised concerns with regards to the recent change to the reference rent and the problems it is causing, Tom Levitt MP advised that he will be meeting this week with Secretary of State for Work and Pensions – more to follow on this as soon as available.

Something you may want to do in the meantime with regards to this issue is show your support by signing the petition setup by Glossop.com’s Robin Thornber at : http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Glossop-rents
