discussion are several that were considered at the recent corporate select
committee including (amongst others) the council's medial policy and
protocols, 3 year financial plan along with consideration of reports around
banning drinking on the streets in the centre of Buxton, options on the
development of indoor leisure facilities in Buxton, two documents for the
local development framework and a number of confidential reports including
bids to the housing corporation, (previously considered at the Social
Inclusion Select Committee) the refuse and recycling contract, and issues
around the Pavilion Garden.
With regards to the reports on the local development framework, one of them
is with regards to the 'Core Strategy' the document which sits at the centre
of the local development framework, and will amongst other issues include
details on the allocation of land for various different uses including
housing, employment etc.
Following consideration of the document at the executive this evening the
document will then be out for public consultation for a period starting on
Monday 8th November until Friday 4th January, via a variety of means
including online via the council's website.
Now this document whilst not necessarily sounding like much will pay a
important role in shaping the High Peak and any new development from housing
to anything else over the next 20 years so please take if you can to give
the council you views on the document, further details will be posted here
for any consultation events etc as and when I know the details.
