The Volunteer Walk Leader Training Course is a one day course which is recognised by the British Heart Foundation's National Centre for Physical Activity and Health, and is Endorsed Training on the Register of Exercise Professionals.
Everyone who attends the course is given a full training manual, and a formal Certificate of attendance. Having successfully completed the training day, you will be registered on the Walking the Way to Health (WHI) insurance, and be therefore fully insured to lead walks with the general public.
Places are limited, so booking is recommended.
A first aid course has been organised to run at Gamesley Community Centre on Saturday 20 October from 9.30 - 4.30 PM.
The course is the 'appointed persons' certificate and this course is ideal for smaller workplaces or organisations that present few health and safety risks, where a nominated or appointed person is required to take charge in the event of an illness or accident.
For further information on both of these course please contact Lisa Jowitt, Community Centre Co-ordinator on 01457 869145.
