Good news on the health front

The Independent Reconfiguration Panel (www.irpanel.org.uk) which was tasked with reviewing the decision on the Making it better : Making it real review of children’s and maternity services within the Greater Manchester area has decided to back the original ‘option A’ of the review which will see service retained at Tameside Hospital along with a further seven sites across the area including Stepping Hill.

In confirming the recommendations of the original review with regards to keeping services at Tameside the panel have also made a number of additional recommendations to the plans a key one been that the NHS must work to communicate and engage fully with patients, public and staff across the effected area.
