On Saturday 16th June, between 9am and 1pm, Glossopdale Police will be hosting a “Safer neighbourhoods day”.
The event will be hosted on the car park in from the Norfolk Arms in Glossop and the Glossop Railway Station Car Park will feature a range of exhibitions to highlight the work undertaken in recent months by the safer neighbourhood teams.
The teams of which the Gamesley and Charlesworth team was one of the first in the area are made up of a number of police staff (PC’s, Police Community Support Officers, Specials etc), as well as a whole host of other groups (such as the council, HPCH, GRA, Schools etc) and local residents.
The exhibitions will feature some examples of some of the work carried out by the police with the local Youth Service, High Peak Borough Council, Neighbourhood Watch, Pubwatch and Glossop Retailers in Partnership as well as others.
As well as been able to find out what the Police are doing in the various area of Glossopdale, local residents attending will have the opportunity to speak to the police and other groups, provide feedback on how they think the police are doing and feed in there own ideas of what needs to done locally.
The event will have something for everyone, from young to old with entertainment, a bouncy castle, and police cars as well as free food to those that arrive early.
