Executive Meeting

At last nights executive meeting despite the presentation of the various petitions, and the various objections made including a 4 page email from Hurdlow resident Janet Mills, the executive decided to approve the proposals to dispose of land at Hurdlow and Youlgreave for the housing schemes.

What this means is that pending the various legal negotiations, the scheme for 4 houses for rent at Hurdlow will now go ahead, and that a planning application will be submitted for the Young Persons Housing Scheme on Youlgreave / Melandra Castle Road.

Cllr John Pritchard (Independent - Whaley Bridge) the executive member for social inclusion noted the objection mentioned above, but felt in his view that the schemes will have benefit for Gamesley, particularly as they have been supported by the police. The recommendation was then seconded by Cllr Michael Harrison (Liberal Democrat – Chapel East) and then approved by the rest of the Buxton / Whaley / Chapel (Liberal Democrat / Tory / Independent) based executive.

In terms of what happens next, I await additional information, which will be published when available.
