Climate Change

Friday saw this month meeting of the High Peak Labour Party, which this month was meeting, at the Old Hall Hotel in Buxton. As opposed to our usual arrangements, we had guest speakers from Greenpeace and High Peak Friends of the Earth, helping us debate climate change and things that can be done locally to try and tackle the problem.

From what I saw of the discussion, there was an interesting exchange of views, include details from New Mill’s members on the Town Council’s waterpower scheme. Greenpeace contribution also included a DVD presentation called “What are we waiting for” which displayed a number of ideas currently been operated in Europe.
