Plot not quite lost ?

Any resident’s that have seen this weeks (Thursday 19th October) Buxton Advertiser, will have been concerned to see the front page headline of “we lost plot over repairs”.

The article, which reports overspends of £200,000 on general repairs, and £450,000 on the kitchen and bathroom replacement programme make grim reading, however the company advise that the problems are not quite as grim as reported in the paper, and have being caused by a number of factor’s including:

? An increase in the number and nature of repairs:
? Replacing kitchens, which would previously have been repaired;
? Higher expectations from tenants on quality and type of repairs,
? The need for agency staff to cover long-term sickness.

Towards the end of the article Mark Ford, Head of Operations for the company advises "We are confident we can control the overspend and we are not intending to cut the repairs service to tenants.”

What other effect these overspends have remains to be seen, as elsewhere within the article it mentions that fund’s would be made available from elsewhere within the business to meet these overspends.

More details on this, as soon as they become available.
