Grim News on housing plans

Residents will be concerned to hear that following the closing date for objection to the planning application for four three-bedroom houses last Friday, officers from the planning section are recommending the application for approval.

The recommendation will go to the next meeting of the council’s development control committee at its meeting on Monday 16th October, where councillors on the development control committee will then decide on the application.

This meeting takes places at 5.30pm in the evening at the council’s offices in Chinnley, and includes an opportunity for residents opposed to the application to speak at the meeting.

Additional details on how you make a further objection will appear on this site later on today.

In further bad news, the report that will go to the council’s executive, appears to have ignored the concerns of local residents and is recommending approval (subject to planning application) for the Hurdlow scheme above.

The report is also recommending (again subject to a planning application) that the site at the corner of (pictured left) Youlgreave Crescent and Melandra Castle Road goes forward as the proposed site for the Young Person’s Housing scheme.

The report will now go for scrutiny to the Council’s Corporate Select Committee on the 10th October, before going to the Councils Executive Committee for a final decision on the 31st October.

As with the planning application additional details on how you can make further objections will appear on this site later on today.
