This week all in all was a fairly quite one with only 2 meetings during the week and a Councillor’s surgery on the Saturday.
Wednesday was this quarter’s meeting of the Glossopdale Area Forum, which had the theme of affordable housing and including presentations from planning and High Peak Community Housing Company, on the issues around getting more affordable housing in the Glossopdale area.
One area of concern was in part of the High Peak Community Housing Presentation, where they said that as part of there future plans on the area they are intending to ‘bid’ for funding to build up to 180 houses, the possible implication been that the current ‘proposed’ housing schemes may just be the tip of the iceberg.
The meeting also saw a presentation on the forthcoming twin bin scheme, which should be starting at the end of May in the Glossopdale area.
Thursday was this month meeting the executive of the High Peak Labour Party, which took place in the Labour Club in Glossop.
Friday I finished off the week by going to see ‘Lucky number Slevin’ at Cineworld in Ashton, quite an entertaining film with a goods story and a good cast including Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman.

I believe there was a meeting recently at Hadfield school on this issue of affordable housing for Glossopdale.
On reading the issue of 180 houses being planned, could you tell me if there is also a plan to build similar accomodation for homeless, as planned at Gamesley, within the number of 180?
I believe there was a representative of Adullam Homes at this school meeting, which strongly suggests a similar scheme.
Janet,
At current I am awaiting some additional information on this, if you can let me know your email address I can let you know shortly.
