Last Week – A Brief Review

A fairly quite week with a meeting of the Environment Select Committee on the Monday, which looked at issue’s around the Beacon Council Open Day in September, Manor Park (although this wasn’t on the agenda) and the Refuse Collection Service Best Value Review.

Thursday saw the first meeting in it revised format of the Audit and Regulatory committee, which met to receive a SAS 1610 report from the district audit with regards to the council’s finances. The title sounds a little bizarre but it was basically an interim report saying that things on the whole are ok, but one or two area’s could do with reviewing to ensure the council complies with best practice.

Friday saw this month’s Constituency Labour Party Meeting in Whaley Bridge, amongst the topics discussed were Primary Care Trust’s, including the particular issue around Glossop and a start on the recently released Education White Paper.

Extra Councillor’s surgery for the changes to the buses on Saturday, part shared with one been done by Paula one of the ‘Bobbies’ that works on the estate.
