Last week – A brief review

Summer would normally be quite for meetings, but with the two by-elections coming up in September, things will stay a little more lively than they normally may have been.

With the Branch / Constituency Secretary hat on (as such) Wednesday this week saw a campaign meeting, originally planned just to consider preparation for one by-election, it now has two, with an additional meeting before to select our candidate for the Dinting Ward. Both meeting went well, with particularly the selection meeting, which saw three candidates ‘battle it’ out for the post.

Further details on the by-election's will be available on the High Peak Labour Party Website, but both look to be good campaign’s with us having good candidates in Ellie Wilcox for Whitfield and Steve Eichhorn for Dinting.

The week finished with a visit to the cinema to see the Island on Thursday and Crash on Friday, both good films for summer, one seen in Stockport, the other seen in Didsbury. Both of which use to be UGC, but are soon to be Cineworld, a take over which is good news for those like myself with the UGC Unlimited card, because before long these will now be valued at both UGC and Cineworld cinemas.
